About Us!
                                                Welcome to Circle Of Hope A Special Ministry Of
                                                 Metropolitan Community Churches.

                                                Who are we?
                                                We are a small but powerful ministry with an intimate atmosphere. Our ministry
                                                has been in Portland, Maine for more than 10 years.

                                                Our ministry is very small but is a member of the larger United Fellowship of
                                                Metropolitan Community Churches (see their Web site http://mccchurch.org/).

                                                An introductory paragraph from the U.F.M.C.C. web site says: Rev Troy D. Perry
                                                founded Metropolitan Community Churches (M.C.C.) in 1968. This Fellowship
                                                of Churches plays a vital role in addressing the spiritual needs of the lesbian,
                                                gay, bisexual,and Trans gendered community around the world. For those of us
                                                who were raised in a religious atmosphere, homosexuality was usually
                                                associated with shame and guilt. As a result, many of us
                                                were cut off from the spiritual dimension of our lives. Metropolitan Community
                                                Churches provide an opportunity to explore a spiritual experience that affirms

                                                who we are.

We do some outside events that we try to do during the seasons of spring, summer, and fall.
* A Monthly Movie Night *
* Potluck Dinners *
* Out - To - Dinner *
* Swimming *
* Our Yearly Retreat (when announced) *
* Gay Pride / we enter every year *
* Merry Meeting July 4th Cruise *
( these days will be posted on the events calendar)

That is just some of the events we do. Our events planning committee is always coming up with new ideas all the time.

So, whats stopping you?

Come as you are we are a non-discriminating affirmative ministry.
